When is the immigration court hearing?
To find out when and where your next immigration court hearing will be and what type of hearing you will have, you must navigate the immigration court system. To do this, it is important to check the status of your case on a regular basis. There are two ways to do this: call the court's automated hotline or check the status of your case online.
1. Online
You must go to the website and enter your A-number to obtain information about your case. Once logged in, you will be able to see your information, your A-number, the date the case was docketed in the court system, and the court address. If you have been assigned a hearing date, you will also see that date and the name of the judge.
If the website does not show your case information, there may be an error. It is recommended that you also call the hotline to make sure the information is up to date.
2. By phone
You can call +18008987180 and use the automated system. Once dialed, follow the instructions: press 1 twice, enter your A-number, press 1 to confirm. If you are in the court system, the system will speak your first and last name. However, if your case is not in the system, the voice response will provide the information: "The A-number information you entered does not match a record in the system or the case has not been filed with the immigration court. After that, go to select the information you need and press
1 - to see the next hearing date,
2 - to see the Employment Authorization Days (EAD) counter,
3 - for information about the court decision,
4 - for information about the appeal.
3. In court
Another way to get information about your case is to call the specific immigration court on the list and talk to the court clerk.
4. On Form I-862
Be sure to check the date of your next hearing on your Form I-862 Notice to Appear. If the hearing date changes, a new form will be mailed to your address.
Keep up with updates and your case so you are ready for your next hearing.
