Meeting with an ICE officer

I have been summoned to a meeting with Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials. What can I expect?

Don't worry - this meeting is organized to help you with your initial adjustment, to establish control, and to set a date for your next visit. You will not be interrogated. You will be able to ask your questions, and there are usually no interpreters present. If your passports were confiscated at the border, you can request that they be returned to you for a few days or weeks for local processing when you meet with an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer. If the passports were not confiscated at the border, the officer may confiscate them at the meeting. The same goes for the bracelet - you may be asked to wear it, or it may be removed and an app installed on your phone for tracking and monitoring.
