How many days are on the clock?
If you have applied for asylum in immigration court and want to know how many days you have left, you can call the Immigration Court Hotline:

1. Press 1 twice.
2. Enter your A-number.
3. Press 1.
You will hear your last name and first name.
4. Press 1.
You will hear the date of your first court appearance.
5. Press number 2.
You will hear the number of days that have passed since the court accepted your Form I-589.
The Immigration Court can stop or restart your asylum deadlines for a variety of reasons. If you have a problem with your deadlines, you can call the Immigration Court hotline or if the message on the line says "no hours.
The following reasons may cause your asylum case deadlines to be stopped:
For example, if you presented your asylum application to an immigration judge and then requested additional time to find a lawyer, the asylum clock does not start running until you appear at the next hearing.
