Is there a way to go to another state or city instead of visiting the bondsman?

Important recommendation: strictly follow the instructions of the ICE officers, come to the specified location and show up for the scheduled visit with the officer (pay attention to the papers from the border, which may include the date and address of the visit).

• You may not leave the state without the permission of an ICE officer, even if you are not in control.
• If you decide to go elsewhere, you do so at your own risk, in which case you put your bail bondsman at risk. Take all necessary steps to contact an ICE officer BEFORE the appointed time and request permission to move or to register at the new location as soon as possible.
• If your paperwork does not indicate a visit from an officer, follow the same algorithm. By default, your paperwork will be sent to the ICE office at your bail bondsman's address, so in this case it is important to make an appointment with an officer and request permission to move.
• If you are released without a bondsman, without an address, and without an appointment, you may choose where to go, but you must report the information to EOIR 33 when you arrive.

Do I have to report to an ICE officer?

Important advice: Strictly follow the ICE officer's instructions.

It depends on whether or not you were scheduled for this visit. Check your documents carefully.

• If you have a Form I-385 or G-56, you must report to the ICE officer.
• If you have other documents and instructions to come to ICE, then you must go to them as well.
• If your paperwork does not have instructions, a specific date or time frame for the visit, then it is up to you to decide whether or not to go. You can decide to go to show your good side, to show that you are not going into hiding. You can also decide not to go, just in case your passport is not taken away and your movements are restricted.
