Form I-94

Receipt

Form I-94 is issued by a Customs CBP officer at the U.S. Port of Entry. If you arrived across the border in Mexico and were not given a paper version of the I-94 or I-94A, you will most likely no longer be able to obtain one. However, you can try to find the right form on the official website:

GET MOST RECENT I-94 -> I ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE -> enter your data -> in the "Document Number" field you need to enter your A-number instead of your passport number.

What to do if your I-94 form is not found online:
1. Try spelling your first or last name differently. A mistake may have been made.
2. Did you enter your A-number instead of your passport number? Try writing your passport number.
3. If you entered your first and middle name and the form is not found, try another name. You can also try entering your first name and middle name in the name field.
4. If you were born between the 1st and 12th of the month, try swapping the day and month of birth. A mistake may have been made.

If you still can't find your Form I-94, you can contact the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Traveler Communications Center (TCC). They should respond within 72 hours.

Error Correction

If CBP issued your Form I-94, I-94W, or I-95 with incorrect information, you need to go in person to the nearest CBP port of entry or the nearest CBP deferred inspection office to correct the information. The location and hours of operation can be found here.

USCIS will not correct errors on issued CBP I-94s!

Renewal

If you came through Mexico, you will most likely be denied an I-94 extension. As a practical matter, this is virtually impossible. However, you can attempt to do so at the nearest CBP office.

After winning your court case.

To obtain an I-94 after asylum, you need to schedule an appointment at the nearest USCIS office by calling 1-800-375-5283. Tell the answering machine that you need an InfoPass. Be prepared to speak English or have an interpreter present, as USCIS does not provide an interpreter over the phone.

Unfortunately, if you are in the United States, you can no longer make an appointment online using the InfoPass for domestic offices.
